1. Research Overview

This study investigates how the quality of communication between patients and healthcare providers, along with the level of trust in medical institutions, influences when and why stroke patients seek care. Our research aims to bridge the gap between community perceptions and life-saving clinical interventions.

2. Key Objectives

  • Analyze how the quality of initial medical communication impacts the time-to-hospital arrival for subsequent stroke events.
  • Evaluate the levels of institutional trust among stroke survivors and their caregivers in diverse regional settings.
  • Identify cultural and linguistic factors that influence trust in public health infrastructure.

3. Expected Impact

The outcomes will inform the development of patient-centered communication strategies and community engagement programs designed to build trust and accelerate care-seeking for stroke symptoms across Africa.
