Our Mission

The West and Central Africa Stroke Outcomes Research Network (WeCASOR) is a collaborative platform dedicated to advancing stroke research, improving clinical outcomes, and strengthening health systems across West and Central Africa.

Our mission is to build a coordinated research ecosystem that connects clinicians, academic institutions, and public health experts to generate evidence that informs clinical practice, health policy, and patient care.

Who We are

The West and Central Africa Stroke Outcomes Research Network (WeCASOR) is a collaborative platform dedicated to advancing stroke research, improving clinical outcomes, and strengthening health systems across West and Central Africa. Our mission is to build a coordinated research ecosystem that connects clinicians, academic institutions, and public health experts to generate evidence that informs clinical practice, health policy, and patient care. The network's long-term vision is to support coordinated stroke outcomes research across Africa.

Administrative Support

Administrative coordination support is provided by PillarCore Research & Innovation (Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA). Participating institutions remain legally independent and retain local regulatory authority.

Mission

To strengthen stroke outcomes research across Africa through harmonized data systems, governance-driven collaboration, and capacity development—producing evidence that improves care and informs policy.

Vision

To establish a continent-wide registry ecosystem capable of informing clinical practice, guiding public health policy, supporting implementation science, and enabling international research collaboration.

PillarCore provides administrative coordination oversight, governance structuring, data protection framework alignment, and infrastructure development support. Participating institutions remain legally independent entities and retain full responsibility for local ethics approval, regulatory compliance, patient consent processes, and data protection within their jurisdiction.

Important Note

WeCASOR does not function as a clinical care provider and does not deliver direct patient services. The network serves as research infrastructure supporting collaborative stroke outcomes measurement and analysis across participating institutions.
