WeCASOR Consortium Charter
The formal framework governing our collaborative scientific research and regional health systems strengthening in Africa.
1. Introduction
WeCASOR is a collaborative scientific platform established to support research focused on improving stroke outcomes and strengthening health systems across Africa. This Charter defines the governance, operational procedures, and ethical standards of the network, acting as a unified framework for multi-site coordination.
2. Mission & 3. Objectives
Mission: To advance collaborative stroke outcomes research that contributes to evidence-based healthcare delivery and strengthened clinical infrastructure in regional health systems.
Primary Objectives:
- Implementation of harmonized multi-site observational and clinical research studies.
- Standardization of data collection metrics across participating African institutions.
- Building sustainable research capacity via workshops and technical infrastructure.
- Dissemination of high-quality scientific findings through collaborative peer-reviewed publications.
4. Organizational Structure & 5. Scientific Leadership
Central Coordination
Led by the Founder & Scientific Coordinator, managing technical oversight and strategic alignment across all regions.
Research Steering Committee

Publications Policy
Authorship for collaborative outputs follows the ICMJE principles. The WeCASOR Registry Group must be cited as a corporate author in all primary multi-site publications.
Expansion Vision
WeCASOR aims to expand across West and Central Africa by onboarding institutions that share the vision of harmonized research to reduce the regional burden of stroke.
